1994 Joined the Montgomery County Police Department.
About Rick Burge

Experience that makes a difference.

Rick Burge was hired as a Montgomery County, Maryland police officer in 1994 and assigned to the Wheaton Station Patrol Division.

In 1998, Rick was involved in a fatal motor vehicle collision that caused physical injuries and post-traumatic stress. Although the collision ultimately contributed to his retirement in 2012, he was able to continue serving for another fourteen years.

In 1999, Rick was assigned to the Alcohol Enforcement Unit, where he made approximately two hundred DUI arrests annually and enforced alcohol laws throughout Montgomery County.

He was also called upon to assist the Collision Unit with investigations in which alcohol or drugs were contributing factors.
